Get to know this month’s Envase Team Member Spotlight: Laura Luthy, Rate Analyst at Envase Technologies. Don’t forget to check out our previous team member spotlight to learn more about the interesting people who make up the Envase team!

How long have you worked at ENVASE? What is your job & favorite part of it?

Laura:I have been with GTG Technology Group for 9 years! I am a Rate Analyst for one of our systems called the Rate Engine. Aside from this, I also handle our AP/AR. My favorite part of this company is the complete acceptance of family life. I have always been able to work and be a mom and it is such a blessing. I know how lucky I am as many don’t have this flexibility!

Name one ENVASE member you would take on a road trip, and why?

Laura: I would have to say Amanda Nott. She has been with our company for some time now and took over for me when I had my last baby. She completely saved me! That being said, WE HAVE NEVER MET! I would love to be able to meet in person, she’s a busy mom like me and I think we would have a blast.

What is the weirdest food you have ever tried?

Laura: I am not a weird food person AT ALL! I don’t even like chocolate- I have never even had a candy bar!! So…. I guess if I could give any “weird food” it would have to be raw oysters. I love them for some reason!!

Name a peculiar family tradition that you have.

Laura: Every Christmas Eve, my husband’s Dad reads ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas to the family, then we turn out all of the lights, light candles, and sing silent night as we all walk the kids to their rooms as a family. We all give them a kiss goodnight and that is how they go to sleep on Christmas Eve. It was a tradition my husband’s family has been doing since he was a baby.

What is the first thing you are going to do once the pandemic is over?

Laura: We are traveling for the first time since the pandemic began this May! We love to hike and be outdoors, so we are going to Sedona, AZ. I am so excited!

Something new you would like to learn this year.

Laura: I would love to learn to play piano. It is one thing that everyone in my family can do, except me. It is on my list for sure!!

One thing about you that no one knows in the organization.

Laura: Our family owns and operates a School of Rock music school in Pearland, TX. We teach kids to play music individually, and how to be a part of a band. We teach anywhere from ages 5, and our oldest student is over 70! It was a passion project for my husband, and has been a huge blessing for our family!
